presentor-al
Presentor - AL

The Presentor AL Audio Level analogue panel meter is a low-range AC voltmeter designed for audio level monitoring applications. It complements the established Industrial and Fast Response panel meter ranges and is intended to provide performance close to that of a full-specification VU meter, while remaining affordable for modern audio equipment and console applications.

The Presentor AL range is suitable for use across a 600 ohm audio line and is calibrated for operation with an external 3.6k ohm resistor. With this resistor fitted, the meter produces its reference deflection at 0 VU from a signal level 4 VU above 1 mW in 600 ohms, equivalent to 1.228 V.

Its performance is based on the requirements of IEC 268-17, giving it response characteristics close to those of a standard VU meter. The AL range is available in three sizes and four mounting styles, making it suitable for a wide variety of fixed and portable audio equipment.

The meter uses a taut band centre magnet movement with a 26 mm diameter barrel, providing a rugged and reliable mechanism. It is designed so that there is no calibration effect when mounted on a ferrous panel, making it practical for use in metal equipment housings, audio consoles, racks, and portable units.

The dial is designed for clear visibility, using a tube pointer and flattened arc scale on a translucent buff-coloured dial. This makes the meter easy to read, even when several meters are mounted together on a large audio console. A white dial option is also available.
